Parish Outreach / Nurse Ministry
The Parish Nurse Ministry is a group of nurses in the parish volunteering their time and expertise to provide a health care ministry that assists the parish members in their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. The ministry is rooted in scripture, specifically Jesus’ command to “preach and heal the sick” (Luke 9:2). The acronym “HEALTH” is used to describe the role of the Parish Nurse:
H – Health Counselor
E – Educator
A – Advocate/Resource Person
L – Liaison to Community Services
T – Teacher of volunteers and support groups
H – Healer in mind, body, and spirit
The ministry members avail themselves to help parishioners when the need arises in any of the above areas. Education programs, health screenings, referrals, and spiritual support are our goal. Consult the parish bulletin for announcements of meetings and special programs.
To receive assistance from the ministry or to volunteer to become a member please contact Kris Ingle, RN at 215-357-4113 or by email at parishnurse@st-bede.org for more information.
